welcome/failte

In traditional villages, the tavern or local public house is the place where neighbors meet, visit and exchange ideas welcomed into the home of the purveyor. As a an independent, family-owned and operated establishment, we offer this same classic and intimate ambiance with comfortable seating, an inviting fireplace, soft lighting, rich woods, and even a patio to enjoy warmer weather. Delicious food combined with an array of draught beers and specialty cocktails, and craft beverages complete the experience creating the ideal backdrop for great conversations, live entertainment and genuine Irish hospitality!

Confreakinggratulations to Schrödinger's Cat for picking up the latest Rolling Jackpot prize!  Well done!  My thanks for making Tav Triv more fun and for providing me with music as well as (obviously) plenty of correct answers.

Haircut Saloon

Hey puzzleheads!  As you can see, unlike Wikipedia and Craigslist, the Exchange Tavern site is up and running.  This SOPA stuff is very interesting!  We had a slower night this past Wednesday, but it didn't damper the fun, and we are VERY close to awarding the Rolling Jackpot prize.  You can click here to see the leaderboard.

Inborn Cows!!

Hey Puzzleheads!  Another psychotic Colorado winter week has come and gone (Ski or golf??) and here we are again creeping up on another Tav Triv night.  Last week was interesting and exciting with quite a number of new teams as well as some faithful, (we missed you Flummoxed!) as I muddled my way through a second rendition of 2011, The Year in Review.  To hell with 2011...let's get on with 2012 already! :)

Harp Any Weepy!!

Hey friends!  Yes, it's been awhile since my last post.  Why does December always have to be so busy??  I'm happier than a Irishma in a bar to be back at the helm of the Love Boat we call Exchange Tavern Pub Quiz!  I'm even happier when all of you show up.  Bring your friends!  Better yet, bring your enemies (Frenemies?) so you can show them what a huge brain you have..

And the Winner Is....

Hair Plugs!!!

Our latest round of Trivia has closed, and the Rolling Jackpot (and Karate trophy) now goes to Hair Plugs!  Congratulations to you...your persistance and HUGE brains have paid off.  To be fair, there were a couple teams right on your tails, namely Zombiebait and Illuminaughty and a few other teams on some pretty hot runs these last few weeks.  The next round (starting this Wednesday!) should be a doosie :)

Passing the torch??

Wow....we're getting VERY close to passing the "torch" or in this case, a Karate trophy that is posing (albeit poorly) as the Holy Grail of the Exchange Tavern Pub Quiz!  Stay tuned, Denizens of The Tavern, as we might have ourselves a new Rolling Jackpot champion next week!

This past week saw Flummoxed, Illuminaughty, and Zombiebait winning rounds of drinks.  Slainte!

Chili Time!!!

So I'm hoping everybody enjoyed the first snowfall of the year...who needs autumn anyway!? Actually this week is shaping up to be a beautiful autumn week, and I've already made a pot of Cincinnati Style Chili and had a big juicy 5-way. (You're gonna have to look that up, you non-Cincinnatians!) Next comes good 'ole fashioned Chili con Carne.

Q: Where's the coolest trivia in Denver?? (Specifically between 118th and 120th bounded by Lowell and Sheridan) :)

A: The Exchange Tavern of COURSE!!

Sorry for the late post folks...it's been a busy weekend and I can't believe our Pub Quiz is only a day away.

Anyways, a big shout-out to Flummoxed, Zombiebait, and Hairplugs for rocking the rounds, and receiving a "round" themselves on the Tavern.  I should say that the scores were VERY close as we've had some newer teams lately making runs on the regulars....it promises to be interesting for sure tomorrow night!

Back in the Saddle!

Well, it was sure nice to be back at the helm after taking a week "off" for some recurrent training.  It was a slower, more intimate night for sure, but it was a great time as usual.

We had a great couple rounds, as Flummoxed, Zombiebait, and The Falling Down Lemurchans took home the free drinks!  Your brains are so big we have our own "Think Tank" right there in the Tavern!

As for this week's ToGO question, just look back to my Roses are Red blog and we'll use that one for this week.

Roses are Red..

Todd Helton's goatee

With the rest of the Rockies

Took two out of three. :(

That is to say that I was on hand at Coors Field to watch my beloved Reds fall to Tulo & Co. after a great series starter on Friday night.  Oh well...it's not like either of them are in contention anyway!  I had a great time though and my kids got to run the bases after the game.
