The Exchange Tavern's blog

Celebrations are the punctuation of Life!

Okay that title came off sounding a little more profound than I wanted, but perhaps that's the point of it (yes there's a bit of a pun there).

Things that make us smile.

This last week marked The Exchange Tavern's 6th St. Paddy's Day celebration!  It was a glorious party!  Our cheeks bunch remembering...

Not just for vegetarians!

We're pretty proud of our Colcannon--that's in large part because it's so popular.  But it wouldn't be so appealing, if it wasn't so darn good!

In describing this traditional dish, I'll list out the ingredients just to see the reaction: carrots, potatoes, turnips, and cabbage, mashed together with salt, pepper and butter.  Most are clearly dubious, that this odd combination could be as yummy as it is.

Thank you!!!!

The voting is in and your Exchange Tavern is yet again in the top five Irish Pubs in the Denver/Boulder area!  We are humbled and warmed by your amazing support!  Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you!

It is our singular purpose and an incredible privilege to be here for you.  Thank you for making The Exchange Tavern your neighborhood pub!

Slainte!

It's not too early to start your Holiday planning!

Tomorrow is Halloween and we are busy preparing for our annual costume party tonight.  It promises to be a fun one with KNIGHT GROOVE playing too.

For me, the year seems to speed up after Halloween.  Before we know it, we'll be thinking about Thanksgiving and Turkey, and the warm but busy joy of the December holidays!

Looking forward to Halloween

It's time to start thinking of your costume!  Video Game Characters is our Tavern theme.  You want to come as Bart Simpson?  James Bond?  Ms. Pac Man?  With so many choices it can be overwhelming, but this isn't supposed to be hard.  You don't have to take it too seriously--fun first!

Channel 7's A*List voting is underway...

THANK YOU for your vote--but most especially--thank you for your business!  It's our special privilege to be your neighborhood pub :o)

And thank you too for telling your friends and family to cast their vote... and your co-workers, and neighbors... how about the milkman, your dentist, the checkout lady at the grocery... ;o)

Summer waning?

I can't believe summer is nearing its end!  Seems like just a few weeks ago we had Wendy Woo out on the back patio for our first annual Summer "Coming Out" Party!  We certainly enjoyed World Cup Soccer for a month, and it was a grand 4th of July... and snap! just like that here we are.  I guess time really does fly when it's fun!
